Summary: A little protection goes a long way
Comment: The case is made of thin metal with some thin foam on the inside.

It does what it's supposed to do: protect my PDA.

It's not of particularly high quality, which is what I expected when making my purchase. But it has done a fantastic job of keeping my PDA (fairly) clean.

The hinge is surprisingly strong, considering the abuse I've put it through, and the clip still works extremely well. I've even had idiot friends open the case by bending the clip, but I was able to carefully bend it back into position w/o any problems.

The screen protector was definitely a great idea, although I had purchased a separate screen protector that fits directly on the screen (whenever purchasing an expensive small electronic, spending 10$ on a screen protector is the best investment you'll ever make). But the protector on this case has still proven to be a valuable asset in keeping my PDA well-protected.

I've never used the belt clip. I learned long ago to never put anything on your belt (you can ask my last cell phone: go-karting incident), but the clip itself doesn't seem to be too bad. It's all plastic, so while it's not of especially fine quality, I can't say anything bad against it as I've never used it.

The only damage my PDA has sustained was from this case, but that was due to user error. A few times my friends (and myself) put the PDA back in incorrectly, and that resulted in some minor scratching in the top left of the PDA, both front and back. The damage is very minor and is entirely human error, but the case is capable of doing minor damage if the user isn't careful.

As far as the GPS goes, I've used the GPS function w/ the case on and it works perfectly fine. Majority of the time, though, the PDA is out of the case in order to use GPS. This is b/c the mount that comes with the PDA cannot accommodate the extra bulk of the case, or any case, for that matter. But like I said before, I've used the GPS by hand while in its case, and it worked perfectly fine.

A note for the previous reviewer: GPS is severely affected by several other obstacles, such as buildings, trees, or your vehicle (if you're referring to keeping the case on whilst in the car). And if you are referring to using it in your car, there's an even longer list of potential issues associated with vehicles.

In summary, the case, while not the greatest quality, is definitely a small price to pay for excellent protection of my +400$ PDA. It's saved my PDA from several scratches, nicks, daily wear-and-tear, and the occasional drop. I give it 4 stars due to its lower build quality but its ability to save my PDA from other costly accidents.

Summary: Blocks GPS but not wifi.
Comment: Nice looking hard case for the iPaq. Unfortunately, it DOES block all GPS connection when the lid is closed (standing outside with a clear view of the sky - good GPS signal - slide the iPaq into the case, close the lid, no signal).

Since the only way to really utilize the case for the inteded purpose (to protect the iPaq) would be with the hinged lid closed, then it doesn't suit this purpose. Flipping the lid open (helps very slightly for some signal), isn't an option, since it's a hinged lid (opens to about a 45 degree angle to the case), and it would be like holding an open book out in front of you - just not realistic!

The case is a very tight fit - which would be perfect if I could just leave the iPaq in there all the time, but since I would have to remove it every time I wanted to use the GPS function, this is not a benefit.

It's too bad they couldn't find a way to make this case in hard plastic or some other material that would protect, but not block the GPS signal - if they did, it would be perfect!

Summary: Case blocks GPS signals on the HP iPaq rx 5915
Comment: The armor case does protect the rx 5915 and has a clip that lets you put the device on your belt. But the metal case also blocks the GPS signal. So if you intend to use the GPS functions of the rx5915, you'll have to take it out of the case. I think there are non-GPS versions of the iPaq rx5915--this was probably intended for them.
