Customer Rating: Summary: One small criticism... Comment: Great product, excellent idea. Read other reviews for more details. Fits just about anywhere, and stays put. The only criticism is that the rubbery "underpart" material holding the mount in place starts to show wear almost immediately. Keep out of direct sunlight when not in use so the bottom doesn't dry out, crumble or break apart. Otherwise, as stated: a great, user-friendly, wonderfully functional device.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful purchase Comment: I wasn't sure whether or not to buy this since the 360 came with a suction mount for the window. I've got an older minivan and leaving suction marks and a mount in the center of my windshield wasn't my idea of good advertisement for thieves. I purchased this friction mount and it's the nuts! I don't even sit it in the center of the dash but on the left far side and it's out of my way to drive and yet I can see it perfectly. When I'm going out of the car, I just unmount the Nuvi and take it with me, and the friction mount goes in one of many other non-viewable areas in my front seat. Slick, great idea, doesn't slide, adapts to all dashes and I'm glad I bought it. A little tricky to figure out how to attach only because I was afraid to push too hard; it uses a hard push to get the ball end into the socket and from then on it's a breeze.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very useful! Comment: For what is basically a sandbag, this is an incredibly useful accessory. It has rubber grip on the bottom so that the heavy sand weighs it down on your dashboard and the holder, and your GPS, doesn't go flying around your car, even if you've just done that U-turn. We bought this because we needed a holder for the GPS for the rental car but didn't want to use the windshield mount (it was a rental car!). The design is perfect. I can't see any improvements you could make with this.
Customer Rating: Summary: No More Ring Around the Windshield Comment: Functions as promised. Stays put; does not slide around, even in the Porsche. A little bulker than the windshild model, but not an issue. I am traveling to California and was told the windshild mount is not legal, sounds ridiculous, but it is CA. I assume the dash mount is ok.
Customer Rating: Summary: Garmin Dashboard Mount Comment: This is exactly what was needed for the Garmin. Sits on the dash and doesn't move around. Doesn't need to be stuck to something, doesn't destroy your car interior. Doesn't fall off in the heat. A good solid product.
