Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap Garbage - Don't waste your time and money! Comment: This cradle is a true piece of junk. The plug on the side is not properly sized and easily slips out of the Curve's port. So you may plug it in for a charge or a sync but find out later than nothing's happening because the plug slipped out and caused the process to stop. Moreover, the contacts for the battery charger on the back are so flimsy that they easily become bent or break off. That's what happened with mine. The contacts got slightly out of line. So I gently tried to move them back into place, and presto! Off comes the contact.
Don't waste your time with this item!
Customer Rating: Summary: double duty and inexpensive Comment: The Hot Sync Cradle/with extra battery slot does exactly what I needed it to do. I can use my supplied USB cable and AC charger at home and the cradle at work. I bought an extra battery, so I just swap batteries and put the extra in the back of the charger. It goes face down, and chargning is confirmed by a red light. When completely charged, the light turns green. The cradle has a USB plug that goes into the PC and an AC plug that goes into the powerstrip. Both need to be plugged in for the cradle to work with the Curve and charge the extra battery. With the Curve in the cradle, the battery inside is also charged while the Curve and the computer are connected. Very nice for much less than OEM. The LED indicators are quite bright (red/green for extra battery charging and blue for power); but they face away from you.
Customer Rating: Summary: it works Comment: This works fine. You can also just use the ac power to charge rather than the usb cable. Down side to using the cradle, you have to remove the blackberry from any cases its in. So I end up just using the ac plug that came with it. If I where to use the cradle, it does posistion the blackberry nicely, so you can see the display. The fact you do have the ability to charge a spare battery is nice.
