Summary: Went Limp On Me
Comment: I bought this to use with my iPhone 1G after realizing the new headphones I bought needed an adapter to fit with the iPhone's recessed jack. I chose the Griffin Headphone Adapter mainly for its flexibility since I figured something sticking out of the top of the phone like other adapters are designed would be prone to breakage.
I was more than happy with the Griffin adapter and it worked marvelously for about 3 months of normal usage. Then it suddenly stopped working properly. First the static, then sound being cut off from one side of the headphones, then it got to the point where the music would play just fine...as long as I didn't move my body or the iPhone. Finally the music would only echo through the headphones like I was listening to an outdoor concert going on 5 miles away.
I have since learned that many people have similar issues with this adapter, so based on their experiences and my own I would recommend choosing another adapter for your iPhone/iPod.

Summary: Total Garbage....
Comment: Like many of the other reviewers have previously stated, this unit is total junk. I have had two units fail on me in the past year alone, so I don't think its a defective batch just poor design and engineering. When it works it sounds fine, but that is what it is expected to do. Its supposed to be a simple adapter. After a few months of use, every time the adapter cable twists, the audio would get distorted and this is very annoying when I am trying to get my listen on. In case anybody was wondering, both the white and the black adapters are garbage so save your time and money by buying something else.

Comment: Its perfect, because you no longer has to worry about the iphone earphones, so can peak your favorites one, and thats it.

Comment: It worked very well for about 5 months, then the right channel crapped out. Sounds like this is a common problem with this model. There are other adapters on the market, so stay away from this one.

Comment: This item developed a short after five months of light use and now provides sound to only one channel. I have owned numerous headphones over the years and never had any headphone develop this type of problem. I expect a $10 adapter to last much longer than this piece of junk.
