Summary: Perfect for the Multi-Reader
Comment: Simply, the Kindle is much better in person than just reading about it or hearing about alleged downsides. Without adding to the endless back and forth, I just want to point out two things:
- The kindle is great for the multi-reader. I love being able to read one chapter, close the book, and start another chapter from a previous book. The variety keeps the mind going and interest high. Once I start reading my Kindle, you practically have to tear me away from it.
- No small feat, the Kindle is a left-handed reader's dream. Nothing easier than holding the kindle in its book cover with your left hand and flipping pages. It feels natural and just 'fits.'
Bottom Line: The Kindle must be experienced, not read about.

Summary: Needs no improvement
Comment: I purchased my Kindle last January for $399. I have used it every day since with no problems or issues. I never read with the cover on because it is lighter without it. Learning where to hold it without pressing page buttons took a day or so. No big deal. I took it to the beach and read in the hot sun with no pages to blow or heavy books to hold. I read the newspaper in bed first thing without getting up. Downloaded several free books that I probably wouldn't have chosen otherwise and discovered new authors. Great for avid readers. Love the type changer. When it's late and I'm tired I just make the print bigger. Bought the little black book light advertised with it. Good addition. Buy it, you'll love it..

Summary: Absolutely LOVE it...........When it works
Comment: I am now awaiting my fourth kindle. The following is the problems that I have had happen.
First Kindle (crashed/froze several times a day)
Second Kindle (Wireless didn't work)
Third Kindle (worked great for a bit then the screen went all black on me)
Fourth Kindle (hopefully will work perfectly)
All of this has happened since June of this year. So basically either I am incredibly unlucky, or the current kindle is a Beta that has issues. I love everything about the kindle (cheap books, comfortable holding, great capacity, easy on the eyes to read, great for travel, relatively cheap) It is an absolutely great product...when it works! I have recommended it to many people and still would, but it is very frustrating to deal with the replacement process so frequently. (Though I should note that the kindle hotline people are very, very helpful and kind. This should be the standard for the helpline industry, but unfortunately it is not. Amazon has top notch technical help!

Summary: We love our Kindle
Comment: As my husband and I hit and passed the 50 year old mark, our enjoyment of reading dropped because we had to wear glasses to see "clearly". Wearing glasses to read was exhausting after a while and we just started reading less. With the Kindle, the font can be adjusted for each of us and now we can read w/o the glasses. Reading heaven has returned.

Comment: what a great idea! i have always LOVED to read, as you can tell by the hundreds of books all over my house. the kindle was made for me! i am reading my third book, and have taken it to the beach, the car repair shop, and on a plane. it's the greatest!!
