Editorial Reviews:

With a sophisticated look and multi-function design, this Casio watch from the Waveceptor series has you covered for accuracy, convenience, and style. Featuring atomic timekeeping, the watch receives radio signal calibration so that the time is always perfect, down to the second. And wherever you go in the world, the watch can keep up with 29 different time zone settings (30 cities), with handy city code displays and on/off daylight savings. The stylish black dial features bold geometric hour markers and gold-toned hands. A gold-toned digital window at six o'clock automatically displays the day, date and month and comes with an EL backlight with afterglow. The one-way rotating black resin bezel is highlighted with gold-toned Arabic numeral indexes to further the design, and the watch's rugged black resin band has a buckle clasp. This timepiece also offers four daily alarms and one snooze alarm, a 1/100 second stopwatch, and a handy time recorder. Water resistant up to 330 feet, this reliable watch comes with a two-year battery life and 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

Summary: Good watch if worn lightly...
Comment: I bought this watch less than 6 months ago at a local big-box retailer and have been impressed by its timekeeping ability, but not by its cheap face. The "mineral" face is so soft I can scratch it with my fingernail and see the scuffs. I wouldn't be surprised if the dial window was actually made of plastic. You're obviously paying $40 for the atomic timekeeping feature, and not the build quality of the watch. There are certainly better atomic watches out there for around the same price. Shame on you Casio.

Summary: Excellent value, functionality
Comment: I resisted rating this watch until I'd had it a while. I've had it 18 months now and am still impressed by its reliability. Accuracy, of course, is always right on as it successfully receives updates from Fort Collins every night, regardless of weather or seasonal variations in propogation.

I periodically compare the watch's time to that of a GPS receiver - they've never not agreed. And after a year and a half I'm still on the original battery. I take the watch off and on at least once a day and the band shows no sign of imminent breaking as can sometimes be the case with these resin bands. What's not to like? Yeah, I'd buy it again.

Summary: Nice watch!
Comment: I bought this watch as a second watch to substitute for another beaten up Waveceptor. It matches it completely in functionality... just looks a little gaudy. It's not a 'low profile' watch... it's quite bulky and won't quite go with a suit or any real formal wear. On the other hand, it's right up there in functionality considering what it costs. The density of the instruction manual speaks for itself.

Summary: Very Good Watch
Comment: Overall, I've very pleased with this watch. I absolutely love the atomic time-keeping. Many Casio watches I've owned in the past had a tendency to time a little fast. So, over a year or so, my watch would be a few minutes ahead. Kind of annoying. But with this atomic watch, that problem is a thing of the past! Pros:

1) Time is totally accurate.

2) The digital display is clean and easy to read.

3) The light on the watch is bright and clear.

Here are my only cons:

1) The rubbery band has a tendency to be just a tad too small or too big on my wrist, and causes the watch to tilt back/away from me. Not a big deal; I simply readjust the watch when needed.

2) I wasn't a fan of the gold color, but it has mostly grown on me... mostly ;)
