Digital voice recorders provide great solutions for voice recognition applications, however background noise will sometimes cause a problem. The ME-52W plugs directly into your digital recorder's 3.5mm microphone jack for uni-directional recording in high-noise environments. It will cut down on much of the background noise and result in a more accurate transcription. It also comes with windscreen cover, a tie-clip and 3.3ft extension cord.

Summary: Perfect for dictation
Comment: I use this noise canceling, directional microphone with an Olympus DS-2400 Dictation recorder (142015) for recording dictation or voice notes for my later review. It includes a removable clip, and is designed for use while clipped to your lapel or collar. This microphone works best when the recorder is in Dictation (vice conference) mode.

Comment: if you are into detail and a business owner, you need this device along with the recorder.
As business owners we tend to have a thousand things moving in our heads at the same time, plus new ideas; That is why we need a recorder. The user can record everything, save and itemize different folders on the device, plus it's digital, is uploadable to the computer, and nothing is lost.

Summary: decent microphone, low price
Comment: It doesn't actually cancel out much noise but it is decent on pick up. With a little sound editing you can cut out the background noise and make it work.

Comment: This was a good microphone for the money; however it was a little large for my taste. I was looking for something that was a little more discrete.

Summary: Fast delivery, great service
Comment: The delivery was quick and the service great. The product itself was brand new so there was no quality issue. The problem was my failure to do proper research. The microphone records in mono only, (not stereo).
In addition, the quality was no better than using the DVR without the microphone. Maybe if I was farther away or in a bigger room it may be of some benefit. In any case, the money wasted was my fault alone and not that of the vendor.
