Customer Rating: Summary: Great product! Comment: Great product. Like the Vista. Have had for almost a year now-no complaints.
Customer Rating: Summary: It's hot!!! Comment: It is a very good laptop, and i'm really happy with it.
The only bad thing is that it gets really hot, and I haven't found a cooler for it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good and Bad Comment: This laptop is very well equiped and the looks are stunning.
the only problem is it only works with windows vista.
I'm a hard gamer and i have computers with xp that have half of the stuff this one has and they work perfect. I tried to install Xp in this laptop, but turns out most of the drivers are ONLY for windows vista :S. Vista makes this computer soo slow, it makes you want to break it and throw it away. Have patience though, when the computer gets too slow for your patience, ur only hope is formatting it to make it less slow again. Once again, thank you microsoft for screwing us all, again.
Customer Rating: Summary: Heart attack in a box Comment: Simply awful. A sales associate told me this was the best laptop they had (no wonder Office Depot is barely hanging on by a thread in Ft Worth), yet it can barely function as a vehicle for me to sit here and write a well-deserved one star review.
First of all when you minimize a window the screen still shows strong residual images of the previous screen.
Sometimes when i use the dropdown menu, the image of the menu freezes onscreen. even when I exit the menu, the drop down menu or part of it remains at about three fourths transparency in the forefront of the screen no matter what i do short of rebooting, even if i close the program.
Every time i try to type, the cursor goes completely berserk and i have to wait for 15 or 20 seconds before the mouse pad even allows me to find my spot again. Really sucks for anyone who wants to do things one might reasonably expect to do on a computer, such as typing, renaming files, using the mousepad, and working in various programs.
Not only is this a heart attack in a box, but the people who are running HP are a complete waste of God's protoplasm. If I could give this thing negative stars I would.
I never thought I'd say this, but I miss my old Toshiba. PS- Windows Vista is a complete waste of God's protoplasm too.
I hope the manufacturer did not go the extra mile to fireproof this money pit excuse for a high performance machine. It's starting to get very cold and I wouldn't think of burning any of my old used books to start a fire before I gave this piece of rubbish the honor.
Customer Rating: Summary: HP DEFECTIVE SYSTEM BOARD Comment: The HP DV series PC are TRASH in my opinion. I bought the DV6226US in March 2007, and my System Board fried just 7-1/2 months later. They replaced it, and 8 months later if fried again - and HP wouldn't cover it. With the excessive heat no wonder! A system board crashing is rare but 2 boards in 16 months is nothing but defective product - pure and simple. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT
