Customer Rating: Summary: Better than Jawbone!!! Comment: I have bought & returned about ten bluetooth headsets within the last year. I drive a Tractor-Trailer 12 hours a day and it is a very noisy enviornment to be on the phone during a conversation. The last one I tried was the Jawbone, I returned it an hour after I got it home. I couldn't hear anything at the loudest level. Also, it was very cumbersome to try to put in my ear with one hand as I was driving. Talking on the phone would have been safer than that.
Today I reluctantly bought the Motor Trend 4X MTBT09 at a truck stop and figured I'd try once again after failing with motorola, LG, platronics and the Jawbone.
This is a keeper. I was able to charge it, pair it and use it all while driving without looking at directions. Once I raised the volume, I could hear well what the other person was saying and he could hear me with no complaints.
After an hour I decided no one would be calling me at 3am so I went to take off the headset. It goes on and off with ease. It is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
I haven't tested the talk time yet, but the package boasts an 8 hour talk time when fully charged and more for standby.
The ONLY con is that it IS an over the head design and if it's not your style then you may want to try the Motor Trend 4X 2 in 1 thats both over the head and removable earpice. I personally prefer functionallity over style, although I don't think this is ugly at all, you may not want to walk around the supermarket with it. Leave it in the car...where it belongs.
Customer Rating: Summary: Motor trend MTBT09 Comment: Terrible product. Don't buy unless all you do is listen on then phone.
Pros- Earpiece sound quality is very good. Good amplification. Good fit over the head. Synced right up to my Moto QH. Will charge from a mini-USB connection.
Cons- Lousy Microphone! It is as if MT's idea of noise cancelling is to place a 50db attenuation on the Mic. Function button is large and assessable, too assessable! When reaching for the Vol up or down buttons, or simply adjusting the headset position it is too easy to press the function button and disconnect the call. The Mute function is not usable as an annoying Beep is heard every 3-5 seconds. Soft spongy ear piece is easy to fall off and is now finally lost.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best headset that I have owned Comment: The max4x headset is the best that I have owned. The sound quality on both ends is very good with backgriund noise practically eliminated. I drive a semi for a living and you can hear and can be heard despite all of the wind and engine noise in the truck. This unit is sold in many of the truck stops at a considerably higher price. Great unit.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth the price! Comment: Highly recommended! I tried 2 other Bluetooth headsets before finding this one. Callers on the other end always had trouble hearing me on the phone because of all the background noise (I drive a semi). Also, I found the ear clip style of the other headsets uncomfortable and inconvenient. But this over-the-head style and padded earphone are very comfortable. I have not had a single call yet where the person on the other end had trouble hearing me. You also hear them extremely well thanks to the padded headphone that cups your ear and keeps out other noise. This thing works great in a noisy semi truck, so I know it would be awesome in other, quieter settings!
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty good headset Comment: I owned two of the last version of this headset and they broke very quickly. I decided to try out this new version and it is definitely better, but I'm still crossing my fingers. This time, the boom is adjustable both to the right and left, which is good. The over-the-head strap is flexible and much more comfortable. Now the bad: the blue and red lights are very hard to see in the daylight, the beep to tell you if it's on is barely audible, and many times the other person can't hear me at first even though the phone says a connection is made.
