Customer Rating: Summary: Great multi-phone system Comment: This is my first review ever but I had to comment on what a great phone system this is. I did a lot of research before I purchased this system. Beautiful blue backlit keys and LCD, very comfortable to hold and easy to setup. I really like the intercom system that allows you to call any phone from any other phone. We have a very large house and this is very convenient to "page" someone if you know what room the other person is in. One feature that would be nice (I'm not sure if it has it because I really haven't read the manual yet) would be a page all phone option which would work as a simple intercom to all locations. The intercom requires the other phone to be answered just like a normal call. It also has the typical answering machine. One nice feature is the blinking light for voicemail. We have internet phone which has its own voicemail. If you forget to turn on the phone system voicemail, the internet voicemail takes over. This blinking light lets you know there is a voicemail from your telephone service which we quite often forget to check. To finish, phones were crystal clear even in a large 6000 sqft house. I purchased 5 additional handsets. You can expand up to 12. Highly recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good phone lives up to Consumer Reports top ranking Comment: AT&T's DECT 6.0 Digital line is the top-rated phone in its class in Consumer Reports. Our experience to date is in line with that ranking. It's a well-functioning, intuitive, sleek system. It has standardized and greatly improved our landline situation.
My only quibble is the oddly-placed and touchy redial button. If you try to tuck the phone between your head and shoulder while momentarily going handless, there's a very good chance you'll depress the redial button, thereby ending your current call. I've done it twice so far. Other reviewers on the Consumer Reports website have noted the same issue.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent digital phone/intercom/answerer Comment: I recently had to shop for a new house phone system, and after a fair amount of research, I settled on this one - partially due to a glowing rating by Consumer Reports. This is easily the best portable phone system I've ever used, and I've owned more than a few over the years.
* Range: It's excellent. Every portable I've owned before this one began to get fuzzy if I went more than a few short rooms away. The new Dect 6.0 technology increases range several times further ... you can carry one of these several houses away from it's dock and still get perfect reception. It wouldnt surprise me if these had a range in excess of 100 yds.
* Clarity: Also excellent, courtesy of digital signal processing and noise reduction, as well as privacy encryption.
* Features: It's chock full. I particularly appreciate the intercom feature - each phone has a unique number, and with it you can ring any other phone within the system, like a wireless intercom. Each phone has it's own charging dock, and has a lighted digital display (and lighted keys), as well as a speaker phone. The answering machine at the main dock is also very good. The system is also expandable - you can add more phones.
Aside from some lame belt clips, and a speaker phone with mediocre clarity, this is an excellent system. Highly recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Phones for a Great Price Comment: I have been using these phones now for a few months and I could'nt be happier with them. The sound coming out of the ear piece is loud and clear. Speaker phone is crisp sounding, the person on the other end will never know you have them on speaker. The phones are easy to use, functions are simple, the appearence is sleek. The answering machine function is simple to use even for the electronic challenged person. Some minor issues that I have a problem with is with the idividual bases for the other three phones. They do not have a handset finder button. If you are looking for a phone you will need to go to the answering machine base to press the locator button. Then go around the rest of your home finding the phone you are missing. Not so easy with teenagers in the house.
Customer Rating: Summary: Simple and not for use with headsets Comment: I was looking for a phone that I can use for phone meetings from home with a headset that would last at least several hours. This model fills that bill but the sound, especially with a headset is sub-par. Ever since I got it people have been complaining that they can hardly hear me and they also hear a buzzing when I'm using a headset (and I've tried several.) With my older Vtech it wasn't a problem.
