Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect. 5 stars! Comment: The other reviews are very suiting for this product. I've been EXTREMELY satisfied with this case, and its still going strong after almost a year of heavy use. I took a razor blade and cut out the plastic covering that goes over the screen (which produces a little too much glare for my liking) and instead installed a "BlackJack 2 Anti-Reflective Screen Protector" which only costs around $3 and works much, much better. With the combination of these 2 products my Blackjack 2 couldn't be happier.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice case. Comment: I like this case. It is made of nice leather and i like the way the cover can be used to prop up the phone. The big drawback is that it does nothing for protecting the corners of the phone and the belt clip is junk. First time i dropped my phone was in my garage. It fell off my shop table and i kicked my foot out to catch it and it rolled off my shoe and landed gently on the floor. When i picked it up, 2 corners were scratched badly. What ya gonna do? All phone cases are crap but this one at least fits and looks good. A little overpriced but considering whats out there for these phones i guess it was worth it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Overall a good product Comment: The reason I purchased this case was to protect from unwanted dialing of random numbers in my contacts. I carry my phone in my pants pocket and have been embarrassed a few times when the key pad was pressed by bending over. I really didn't want to have to lock my phone, however, I have finally accepted the need to do so after finding that this case constantly presses the jogwheel and either turns off Blue Tooth or turns off the phone. I wish there was some way to change the settings to get the Wireless Manager off of the jogwheel! Otherwise, the case is very good, fitting perfectly. I agree with another review that the case should protect the corners of the phone better, but I like the padding on the rest of the case.
Customer Rating: Summary: ID and Credit Card Fit too! Comment: I'm thrilled with this Blackjack II case. It's great quality leather, synthetic liner, with good hardware and stitching and just the right cutouts for the MicroSD plug, the proprietary power/USB plug, and volume control, power, camera, and more.
There's no unnecessary materials tags to get in the way. Yay!
Anytime you want to take it out again, there are thoughtfully-positioned finger-sized holes at the bottom and corners to help you slide it out without messing with the buttons. I would have liked the corners to be more protected, but it does help considering how snug the case fits around the phone.
The belt clip hardware (a metal screw and a plastic clip) that came with this case at first didn't look like it would fit, but it's perfect. You don't even need a flathead screwdriver, just use your thumbnail or thumb & forefinger once you get the threads matched. The belt clip hook will fit belts up to 1 5/8 inches wide by 3/16 inches deep. I don't actually use it on a belt, I just hook it onto my pockets and purse straps/pockets. The belt clip makes a satisfying snick with the case hardware when it's properly hooked, and the release button is very user-friendly. While I do find myself bending over the release button, the hardware is designed with a deep enough catch that it's not likely to come off the hook by accident.
Oh, boy, do I love pockets! An earlier review mentioned business cards, but with a little breaking in, I was able to fit both my driver's license and a credit card, in addition to two MicroSD cards. The MicroSD slots have a small hole at the lower end for you to push up the card with your finger, and the pockets feature a slight indentation that helps to hold the cards in place while keeping the profile of the facecover flat.
The magnetic snap doesn't appear to interfere with the phone function, but it did take some breaking in to close when I'd filled the pockets.
Does this case do the job? It will hold the phone -- and more - on your belt or a strap or pocket. I have no problem accessing any keys, buttons, or plugs, or answering the phone.
But some pressing on the key area may result in entering letters and activating functions. Considering the fact that the QWERTY keys are raised above the surface where the Call, Home, Lock, Return, jogwheel, and softkey buttons, you are NOT likely to be making accidental calls. But to protect the keys and your data, I do recommend setting up your Device Lock to prompt for a password if it's unused for a few minutes. It's a good security practice no matter what.
Wish list: since the BlackJack II doesn't have a lanyard hook, I would have liked to find a case like this that included a lanyard hook with metal hardware. I wouldn't dream of stressing the leather or stitching to attach a lanyard to this case.
In all, I think this case is well worth what I paid for it. I will say that I'm surprised that the case is so expensive when it came with the shipper's logo (BoxWave) imprinted in the leather.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Comment: I just received this yesterday so I cannot attest to its longevity. However, this case seems to be extremely well made and fits my phone perfectly. I would highly recommend it.
