Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Love the front LCD panel Comment: This server is perfect for a small compute appliance (CentOS 4.5). We use it to analyze database operations by sniffing network packets on the Gig port. We use the 100Base-T port for management. It's small, cheap, and fast enough for our application. We've added another GigE NIC to the PCI expansion slot and that works well too. It boots off the network or a USB DVD-ROM for the initial install. It uses a USB keyboard and mouse to save space. Tyan makes a GT14 that supports faster (dual-core) CPUs. The most unique item on the server is the front LCD panel. We installed LCDproc and programmed our own messages on the panel. It comes with a CD that installs a configuration application for the panel but we got rid of it. Amazon has the BEST price on these units, so I'll be buying more of these units from them.
