Customer Rating: Summary: Great sound, great look, breaks easily though Comment: I really loved these headphones, right up until they broke 2 weeks later. I wasn't rough on them a bit, I was folding them back up after a workout, and snap they went. I would suggest the Nike SHJ045 Headband Headphones. Far better quality.
Customer Rating: Summary: Older model was much better but not available anymore Comment: I wouldn't recommend purchasing these headphones. If you had the previous version (I think they were A34), you'll notice that this new version doesn't fold as compactly due to the different position of the earpieces, and also the different design and position of the earpieces makes the fit less comfortable than the older design. I wish they wouldn't have discontinued the older design, and I can't recommend a replacement, but I also can't recommend buying these. I will need to buy a bigger iPod case to accommodate these!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Value Comment: What a bargain! - fourteen and change for these excellent fitting and good sounding headphones. So light, I hardly feel them on my head. Most outside noise is blocked out; helpful at the gym with all the crap music that's played too loud. These headphones put me in my own little world; just where I belong while working out.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Sound for the Money! Comment: I love these Sony MDR headphones. I have had nothing but them for the past 6 years. There is ONE small problem with them - if you expand them too far to open them while putting them on your head, they snap and BREAK! This is why I keep two pairs on me at all times. Anyway - the sound is fabulous - nice deep rich bass and good and loud, too! I know it's trivial to some people, but using ear buds or any other headphones with my iPod while I'm on the 'L' in Chicago doesn't give me enough sound. I need something loud to drown out the noise and these are the only ones that will do the job. SO, if you want great sound (and don't mind being careful when opening!) get these headphones. They're marvelous. :)
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for workouts, have not had problems others reported Comment: These Sonys have great sound (including solid bass response) although obviously not audiophile quality. I've tried working out with higher-quality sets and still come back to these because of their combination of good fit and high sound quality that doesn't seal out all outside noise (e.g. the horn of that semi bearing down on you) and also doesn't let half the gym know what you are listening to. I've taken them running in the rain frequently and never had a problem with speaker failure. I've also had several pairs, at least one for years without breakage and I tend to be a bit rough on them (e.g. folding and cramming them into bags where they are probably jostled and flexed a fair amount). I broke my last ones by stepping directly on them, but short of that sort of klutziness I don't find these to be particularly fragile.
